Procure or buy low value goods and services for an organisation

You’ll be working for an organisation or sector where goods and services need to be sourced and purchased in line with national or international procurement laws. Procurement and supply assistants are vital for the smooth functioning of the procurement and supply department in any organisation. During the procurement and supply assistant apprenticeship you’ll be responsible for sourcing new suppliers using market research, challenging purchase needs, and assisting with projects such as spend and trend analysis. In your daily work, you’ll interact with the procurement teams as well as other departments such as finance, legal, IT, sales and marketing. You’ll mainly be office based, but may need to make off-site and supplier visits.

 

Duration: 18 months

Relevant school subjects: Business and maths

Entry requirements for the procurement and supply assistant apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs or equivalent qualifications or experience. It is recommended that learners do the CIPS ethical test online. This is free to CIPS members and is recognised as an essential aspect of the procurement function in today’s competitive and complex supplier world

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels

Potential salary upon completion: £25,000
