Test materials used in machinery and structures to find faults and imperfections
On the senior non-destructive testing engineer apprenticeship, you’ll train to be one of the most senior non-destructive testing members of staff in your organisation. You’ll be responsible for the oversight of operations, from planning and setting procedures to managing projects. You’ll maintain and manage applications of current and developing technology and undertake engineering design and development within manufacturing, construction and operations. You’ll develop theoretical knowledge to solve problems in technologies using well-proven analytical techniques and successfully apply your knowledge to deliver engineering projects or services using established technologies and methods. You’ll also provide financial planning and management, and take some responsibility for leading and developing other professional staff. On completion, you’ll achieve a degree in non-destructive testing.
Duration: 48 months
Relevant school subjects: Science and DT
Entry requirements for the senior non-destructive testing engineer apprenticeship: Three A-levels, including maths and a science or engineering subject; or equivalent qualifications
Achievement upon completion: Level 6 (Degree)—equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
Potential salary upon completion: £30,000 per annum
