The School of Engineering and Applied Science at Aston University is set to launch a new degree apprenticeship for aspiring supply chain professionals.
The supply chain manager (professional practice) degree apprenticeship gives school leavers the opportunity to gain a fully funded degree while working in the industry.
Designed in partnership with leading industry experts, the apprenticeship will develop the UK’s next generation of supply chain professionals.
Degree apprentices on the programme will study part-time, while launching their career at some of the UKs top supply chain organisations.
The programme will help learners cultivate the essential skills and theoretical knowledge required to excel in the sector. With a strong thread of leadership and innovation throughout the programme, apprentices will become proactive and driven supply chain specialists who will play a part in revolutionising, shaping and simplifying the ever changing landscape of supply chain.
The four-year programme launches in September 2020 and will be taught through blended learning with apprentices’ attending two two-day sessions on campus per module with the majority of their time in the workplace applying their learning.
Programme director David Leach said: “Aston has over 30 years’ experience of delivering specialist supply chain courses, so we are delighted to announce the launch of this new degree apprenticeship.”
“We’ve worked in close partnership with industry to develop a programme that will challenge and stretch apprentices setting them up for a successful career in the sector.”
