An apprentice at Butterfield Mortgages is celebrating making the leap to becoming a credit administrator!
Butterfield Mortgages, headquartered in London, specialises in providing high-value residential mortgages and is part of the globally operating Butterfield Group.
With her significant career leap, Navishna Arcson is a notable success story within the company’s talent development strategy.
Navishna started her journey at Butterfield Mortgages in a front-of-house position, greeting clients and managing first impressions. From these beginnings, she has now transitioned into a role that sits at the core of the company’s financial operations.
More than a promotion, this move reflects the rigorous training and real-world experience embedded in Butterfield’s apprenticeship program.
As a credit administrator, Navishna’s new responsibilities are crucial. She handles the documentation of facility letters, collaborates with solicitors and valuers, and manages both new and renewing mortgages. Additionally, she plays a key role in the administration of the company’s loan book – a critical component in the mortgage lending business.
This appointment is a part of Butterfield Mortgages’ broader initiative to foster young talent and offer them concrete career pathways within the finance sector.
Speaking about her experience, Navishna said, “The apprenticeship scheme at Butterfield Mortgages not only equipped me with a robust data technician qualification but also gave me a holistic view of the business.
“This comprehensive exposure has been invaluable, allowing me to apply my learning in real-time and with real impact.”
Anthony Neville, head of credit at Butterfield Mortgages and Navishna’s supervisor, praised her development, stating, “Navishna exemplifies the drive and competence we aim to cultivate in our professionals. Her progression from an apprentice to a crucial member of our team is a testament to her hard work and the efficacy of our training program.”
