The Government Economic Service degree apprenticeship programme is officially live.
The programme is the UK’s first degree-level apprenticeship in economics, creating new routes to careers in the Civil Service for young people who would prefer to study for a degree while working at the heart of government.
The degree apprenticeship will offer students a starting salary of about £22,000 in London and in excess of £20,000 nationally.
It will be delivered in partnership with the University of Kent, which said in a blog post: “Apprentices will complete their studies at the University of Kent—selected to deliver the programme because of the strength of our economics courses and the support we will offer to apprentices throughout their time on programme.”
“We are incredibly proud to have been chosen as the provider of this programme, and excited to see the success of the first cohort!”
