If you are thinking of leaving school this winter, and aren’t sure what to do next, an apprenticeship could be a great option.
With a QA apprenticeship, you can earn a salary, gain real work experience, and work towards a recognised qualification, all at the same time.
You’ll receive structured training from experienced professionals while developing valuable skills in digital and technology careers. Rather than choosing between continuing your education or starting work, an apprenticeship gives you the chance to do both.
Here’s what our apprentices achieve:
- 90% of our apprentices move into permanent roles
- 70% feel more confident and prepared for work
- 13,000+ careers launched or transformed in Scotland

Hear from our apprentices

Amy Canfield, Digital Marketing Apprentice
“The biggest advantage of doing an apprenticeship is getting paid on the job. University, you hear stories about students being in debt and having to pay off student loans, etc. But with an apprenticeship, you’re getting paid on the job, you’re gaining experience, you’re getting a qualification at the end of it. And I think the biggest advantage is definitely getting paid whilst you’re gaining all this experience.”
Kerrs Findlay, Software Development Apprentice
“I would say the biggest achievement in my career would kind of be the first change I picked up once I finished my apprenticeship, as that was kind of the first sort of thing that I worked on after becoming a fully qualified software engineer. With the kind of tight work deadline that we had on it, where we were close to not meeting that deadline. But after working a bit, maybe some later nights and making sure that everything is working exactly how they should be doing, I was able to get that change fully finished up and got it signed off by our stakeholders and got some praise from the team.
If you were to tell me before I started the apprenticeship I’d be doing the sort of things I do now, I would probably be laughing! It’s helped me get that job experience I never had before as well as boost my confidence.”
