Samsung UK has announced the launch of a new apprenticeship scheme to upskill the next generation with the opportunity to get their foot on the career ladder.
With over 450,000 unemployed young people in the UK [1] and two in five of students rethinking their future education because of the challenges over the past two years [2], this new scheme aims to help take a step in the right direction to provide young adults an opportunity to accelerate their careers without the need to go to university.
The Samsung UK Apprenticeship Programme will offer successful applicants the opportunity to ‘earn and learn’ by providing a direct route into the world of work, while having the opportunity to achieve a fully funded qualification in their chosen field at the same time. It will involve on the job training from our expert teams and a training & development programme, as well as a competitive salary and staff benefits such as staff discounts.
Tamas Csejtei, People Team Director for the UK, Ireland & Europe Office at Samsung Electronics commented: “At Samsung, we work to inspire the world and shape the future through nurturing and inspiring the leaders of tomorrow. With many school leavers across the UK keen to start their working lives, we want to provide an alternative way for more young people to find new and exciting career paths through our apprenticeship scheme.
“We know that not everyone wants or has the means to go to university so we’re looking to offer both an entry point into the industry with invaluable on-the-job experience as well as formal qualifications. With consumer electronics touching every aspect of our everyday lives and culture, from music to fashion and gaming, we can’t wait to welcome more young talent to our industry leading team at Samsung UK.”
The pilot programme will include apprenticeships in a range of disciplines within Samsung UK – including marketing, sales & business development, technical and finance.
The scheme is now open for applications until 17th March, with assessments running from February to April 2022. Successful applicants will start in September 2022 alongside Samsung’s wider Emerging Talent programme.
