Suffolk Chamber of Commerce gains end point assessment status

Suffolk Chamber of Commerce has become the only chamber in the country to be accredited as an end point assessment organisation for the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship.

The University of Suffolk approached John Dugmore, chief executive at Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, to encourage it to become an end point assessment organisation, which handles marking and assessment once a course has been completed at an education provider.

Robert Turnbull (pictured), SFEDI programme leader at Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, wrote, developed and created all the documentation and marking schemes for the application.

On the basis of this, Turnbull made a successful application to the Skills Funding Agency.

Suffolk Chamber of Commerce can now conduct the end point assessment for the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship, a degree level apprenticeship, with the added professional accolade for the learner of achieving Chartered Management Institute chartered manager status on completion.

Dugmore said: “This achievement demonstrates Suffolk Chamber’s ongoing and hands-on commitment to improving the skills of our workforce here in the county and indeed across the country.”
