The Growth Company Education and Skills are very proud to announce that Vaughn Corrie has won the Level 3 Construction Apprentice of the Year 2021 award at the Construction Apprenticeship Awards in Manchester in October, 2021.
Vaughn completed his apprenticeship working for the Wythenshawe Community Housing Group. His dedication, not only to the course but to his employers, has made him a well-deserved winner. During lockdown Vaughn was furloughed, yet he continued to show his commitment to learning by staying in contact with his employer and working towards completing his NVQ qualification.
Phil Henniker, Skills Development Tutor said, “Vaughn has always completed his work to a very high standard with a very positive attitude. He has completed his BTEC Level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment and an NVQ Level 3, which included underpinning knowledge, collection of evidence, observations, and professional discussions.”
Vaughn Corrie said, “When I initially received the call to say that my Tutor had nominated me, I was thrilled. On top of that, discovering I was a shortlisted finalist and actually winning the award is amazing! I had a great night at the event, it was fantastic to meet other apprentices from the Growth Company. I will certainly be declaring my achievement when I apply for jobs in the future, as my current contract is, unfortunately, coming to a close.
If anyone is looking for an apprenticeship, then I highly recommend the Growth Company; the facilities at the Greater Manchester SkillCentre are fantastic and I have received lots of support from all the staff especially my Skills Development Tutor, Phil Henniker.”
