Apprenticeship Guide celebrates 20 years of supporting young people into work
The Apprenticeship Guide is celebrating its 20th birthday with the launch of its landmark 20th edition, continuing two decades of supporting schools, colleges, employers, and learners with clear and trusted information about apprenticeships.
Since its first edition in 2006, the Guide has grown into a cornerstone of apprenticeship awareness in the UK, with forewords from leading figures including Sir Alan Sugar and Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Over the years, it has partnered with the Department for Education and the National Apprenticeship Service, as well as many of the country’s most recognisable employers – from McDonald’s and the Royal Navy to the BBC, Amazon and British Airways.
This 20th edition marks a new chapter, with contributions from both the Department for Education and the newly founded Skills England, underlining the importance of apprenticeships in shaping the nation’s future workforce.
To celebrate this milestone, the Guide is available at a special discounted rate for bulk orders until 1 October 2025, after which it returns to full price. Copies can be purchased online at www.apprenticeshipguide.co.uk/product/the-apprenticeship-guide.
The celebrations continue with entries now open for the Apprenticeship Guide Awards, now in their third year. The Awards recognise outstanding employers, training providers, and apprentices who are championing skills development across the nation. More details and entry information can be found at www.apprenticeshipguideawards.co.uk.
Alex Gray, Managing Director of the Apprenticeship Guide, said:
“For 20 years, the Apprenticeship Guide has been a trusted source for schools, colleges, employers and – most importantly – young people looking to take their first step into the world of work. I’m incredibly proud of what the Guide has achieved, and grateful for the support of our many partners over the years. The Guide has always been about giving young people the confidence and information to ‘earn while they learn’ – while building the key skills they need to thrive within their chosen industry.”
The Apprenticeship Guide’s 20th edition is both a celebration of its history and a commitment to the future, helping young people gain the skills and opportunities needed to succeed in the modern workplace.
