Lily is an intelligence analyst with the RAF

I joined the RAF in 2014 after studying politics at college and was excited to start training in intelligence, a role that sounded completely different from anything I’d seen before. After completing initial training at RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire, I progressed to Chicksands in Bedfordshire to complete an operational air intelligence course; it was here I achieved my level 4 higher apprenticeship in intelligence operations.

My first posting was to RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire where I looked at threats to aircraft deployed all over the world. I quickly became experienced in my area and was trusted to deliver briefings at the highest levels. I have also completed my degree and learnt to scuba dive, ski and paraglide during my short time so far in the RAF; the opportunities are almost endless.
