Jamie Harvey, 20, is an improvement practitioner at AstraZeneca
How long have you worked for AstraZeneca? What do you enjoy about your role?
“I have been with the company for two years. Every day is different and there is always something new to learn to better yourself.”
Why did you choose to do an apprenticeship at the company?
“When my granddad was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he was treated with medicine made by AstraZeneca right here in Macclesfield. I saw first-hand how the medicines they produce help people, which inspired me to apply for an apprenticeship with the company.”
How would you describe the culture?
“The culture is perfect for a new apprentice stepping into their new role. Everyone who works for the company is so accepting of you and wants to see you progress and achieve your potential.”
What would you say has been the most interesting/rewarding project you have been involved in and why?
“The most interesting project I have been involved in was a project to roll out lean tools/techniques across a group of packing lines over a 24-week period, designed to make the packing lines more efficient.”
