Accountancy and taxation professionals are recognised around the world as respected leaders in accountancy, taxation, finance and business. From providing strategic business advice to audited financial statements, or driving mergers and acquisitions, a career in this area can be diverse and challenging—it’s not just about putting numbers into a spreadsheet. During the accounting and taxation professional apprenticeship, you’ll learn to use technical knowledge, skills and experience to lead organisations and people to make responsible and sustainable financial decisions. Of paramount importance is acting in the public interest, so you’ll be expected to maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and competency, upholding ethical behaviour and integrity at all times. Completion of this apprenticeship will allow you to apply for membership to one or more of the UK professional bodies.

 

Duration: 36 months

Relevant school subjects: ICT and maths

Entry requirements for the accounting and taxation professional apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience

Achievement upon completion: Level 7 (Higher)—equivalent to a master’s degree

Potential salary upon completion: £27,000 per annum
