Support legal work by managing more complex cases, research and client matters
Working in the legal sector, you’ll support solicitors, legal executives and other legal professionals with more complex legal work. Advanced paralegals can work in law firms, in-house legal teams, government departments, courts, charities or other organisations that provide legal services. During the advanced paralegal apprenticeship, you’ll develop the skills to research legal issues, draft documents, manage case information, communicate with clients and support the progress of legal matters. In your day-to-day work, you may review evidence, prepare files, organise client information, attend meetings, help with court or tribunal preparation and explain legal processes clearly to different people. You’ll need to work accurately, follow legal and ethical requirements, protect confidential information and understand the limits of your role. This apprenticeship suits someone who is organised, confident with written communication, able to handle detail and interested in law, problem solving and helping people understand complex information.
Duration: 24 months

Entry requirements for the advanced paralegal apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs and A-levels or equivalent qualifications, or previous legal experience
Achievement upon completion: Level 5
Potential salary upon completion: £32,000 per annum
