As a commercial laundry operative apprentice, you will work in the commercial laundry service industry, which serves various sectors across the UK, including manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, and more. You will handle laundry processes to meet specific product and customer requirements; that includes sorting textiles, cleaning, drying, finishing, and preparing items for delivery. You will get hands-on with advanced tech, and contribute to quality assurance while keeping the workplace safe and efficient. You might collaborate with team members, team leaders, and managers, and may interact with colleagues from other departments like transport and maintenance. Reporting to a shift manager or supervisor, you will be responsible for following work schedules and quality, health and safety, and environmental regulations. You will work under supervision as part of a team to ensure high standards are met. Upon completion of the commercial laundry operative apprenticeship, you could become a garment cleaner, or progress up the ladder to become a team leader.

Duration: 12 months

Entry requirements for the commercial laundry operative apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience

Achievement upon completion: Level 2 (Intermediate)—equivalent to GCSEs
