Maintain military aircraft and personal survival equipment
The military survival equipment fitter will maintain aircraft and personal survival equipment. It is a skilled, complex and specialist role, maintaining survival equipment according to approved requirements and work instructions, using specific tools and equipment. You’ll learn to comply with regulatory and organisational requirements, and be able to research data sources to ensure that on completion of a task all aircraft documentation is accurately filled in. You’ll be expected to work both individually and as part of a larger maintenance team. Core to the military survival equipment fitter apprenticeship will be your understanding of the fundamentals of basic engineering hand skills, electrical hand skills and maintenance practices, including the basic use of measuring or testing equipment, as well as the structure, properties and characteristics of materials used in the construction, maintenance and repair of survival equipment.

Entry requirements for the military survival equipment fitter apprenticeship: Three GCSEs at Grade C or above, including maths and English, or equivalent qualifications
Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels
Potential salary upon completion: £29,000 per annum
