Carry out a range of moving, packaging and stock-taking roles and duties in a warehouse environment
During the warehouse operative apprenticeship, you’ll take deliveries, check for damaged or missing items, store goods, move stock by various methods, pick and pack orders, load goods for dispatch, maintain stock records and documentation, and clean. You’ll safely use a range of equipment, machinery and vehicles, depending on your role and the setting. This could include mechanical racking systems, materials handling equipment and forklift trucks. As a warehouse operative, you’ll communicate with a range of people and customers. You’ll have a passion for meeting customers’ expectations by providing a quality service that encourages repeat business. You’ll learn to use industry-recognised systems and associated services, and will be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
Duration: 12 months
Entry requirements for the warehouse operative apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience
Achievement upon completion: Level 2 (Intermediate)—equivalent to GCSEs
Potential salary upon completion: £23,000 per annum
