Construction site engineering technician apprenticeship

Look after the technical, organising and supervising side of construction projects

On a construction site engineering technician apprenticeship, you’ll be employed as an assistant site engineer, assistant engineer, civil engineering technician or a construction site technician. You’ll undertake the dimensional control and application of engineering solutions on construction projects. Your tasks will include dimensional control of construction projects, assisting design teams, supervising specialist contractors, contributing to the control of health and safety, recording and reporting on progress, minimising the environmental impact of construction projects, and controlling the quality of work. This apprenticeship will include the knowledge and skills required to achieve technician status with the Institution of Civil Engineers.

 

Duration: 36 months

Relevant school subjects: Maths and science

Entry requirements for the construction site engineering technician apprenticeship: Five GCSEs, including maths, English and a science, or a level 2 apprenticeship

Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher)—equivalent to a foundation degree

Potential salary upon completion: £25,000 per annum
