Complete complex tasks using digital engineering techniques
During the digital engineering technician apprenticeship, you’ll produce detailed solutions to achieve the optimum performance of built environment projects, using digital models and presentations. You’ll learn to use software, sketches and electronic visualisations to support digital engineers or other functional specialists to complete complex tasks. The digital techniques that you will develop knowledge of and expertise in include virtualisation and simulation; digital measurement; communication of complex engineering principles to stakeholders digitally; integration of construction data and information; and adherence to the standards and regulation of digital information. You could progress to become a construction design manager, construction quantity surveyor, construction site manager or civil engineering site manager.
Duration: 36 months
Relevant school subjects: Arts, DT and ICT
Entry requirements for the digital engineering technician apprenticeship: Five GCSEs, including maths and English, or a level 2 apprenticeship
Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels
Potential salary upon completion: £35,000 per annum
