Facilities manager apprenticeship

Ensure that buildings and their services meet the needs of the people that work in them

A facilities manager works in the private, public or third sector and at all sizes of an organisation. During the facilities manager apprenticeship, you’ll be responsible for the safe, secure and comfortable day-to-day working environment for properties, assets and services that must be fully compliant with health and safety and other legislation. You’ll be accountable for the management of the delivery of all services within your area of responsibility. You’ll ensure that levels of the performance delivered exceed customer expectations within budget for the properties, assets and services. You may be employed in-house or at an outsourcing provider. Successful completion of this apprenticeship will meet the full requirements of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) at associate grade. During the programme, you’ll receive membership of BIFM at the affiliate grade.

 

Duration: 24 months

Relevant school subjects: Business studies

Entry requirements for the facilities manager apprenticeship: A-levels or equivalent qualifications, an existing relevant level 3 qualification, or relevant experience

Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher)—equivalent to a foundation degree

Potential salary upon completion: £30,000 per annum
