Provide and manage an organisation’s governance and governance operations-related services.
Governance refers to the systems and processes by which an organisation or company operates and is controlled. That means that people involved in governance are concerned with things like the overall direction, effectiveness, supervision and accountability of an organisation. Governance officers help companies manage, review, and maintain legal and compliance documents, including things like filing returns with regulators and keeping an eye on requirements set by external bodies (like regulatory bodies, or the government). This apprenticeship will give you on-the-job training in this very technical and specialist role. You’ll learn how to apply internal governance frameworks to help companies and organisations follow their own policies, processes, and procedures. Over the course of the apprenticeship you will develop skills like analysing and applying intelligence, and making evidence-based recommendations. You’ll have to interact with and advise people at the senior levels of organisations, so attention to detail and good communication skills are key.
