As a people professional apprentice, you’ll provide invaluable expertise within companies or organisations of all sizes and sectors. During a people professional apprenticeship, your main objective is to support the business in meeting its goals through people-focused initiatives and projects. This role will include hiring, developing, and retaining talent; managing payroll and benefits; fostering positive employee relations; and ensuring compliance with employment laws. Effective communication, influence, and negotiation skills are essential as you interact with stakeholders at different levels of the organisation. Your responsibilities may include developing people plans, providing recommendations for specific situations, assisting managers in implementing people strategies, analysing data to identify trends and issues, and contributing to the review and update of people policies and processes. Throughout your people professional apprenticeship, you’ll stay informed about industry trends and legislative requirements to grow your expertise.
Duration: 22 months
Relevant school subjects: Business studies
Entry requirements for the people professional apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely A-levels or equivalent qualifications or experience in HR or people management
Achievement upon completion: Level 5 (Higher)—equivalent to a foundation degree
Potential salary upon completion: £30,000 per annum
