Improvement technician apprenticeship

Support the resolution of problems and improvement of performance

Improvement technicians are responsible for the delivery and coaching of improvement activity within an area of responsibility, often associated with the lean and Six Sigma business methodologies. They can be found across all industry sectors and functions, including automotive, banking, engineering, food products, IT, property, retail and telecommunications. During the improvement technician apprenticeship, you’ll work as a member of an operational team to resolve problems, prevent reoccurrence, engage others in issues affecting them, and to support the improvement of performance. There are a variety of job titles associated with the improvement technician apprenticeship, including business improvement coordinator, continuous improvement executive and process technician.

 

Duration: 14 months

Relevant school subjects: Business studies

Entry requirements for the improvement technician apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels

Potential salary upon completion: £23,000 per annum
