Identify, create and deliver appropriate training needs
The learning and development practitioner role focuses on the practical delivery of training. As an apprentice, you’ll develop expertise in a specific field, whether it be technical, vocational or behavioural, such as the use of software, food preparation or working in teams. During the learning and development practitioner apprenticeship you’ll be able to link your area of responsibility to business objectives and performance, understanding the cycle and working by it. This role can be more specialist, requiring in-depth expertise in a specific area, such as design, e-learning or digital learning. Whichever of these becomes your area of focus, you’ll look to the future, understand the business culture and have a good grounding across the whole training cycle. Typically, you’ll work alongside HR specialists and report to a learning and development manager.
