The insurance practitioner apprenticeship is designed to give you access to an industry that provides products and advice on everything from sports cars to hurricanes. This apprenticeship will open you up to a variety of careers with supporting professional qualifications, including underwriting, client relations, insurance claims, loss adjusting, broking, reinsurance and account management. You’ll develop the skills and experience that will be transferable across future roles and companies. As an insurance practitioner, your tasks will include supporting the acquisition of new clients and retention of existing ones, handling client queries on products, services and accounting, processing and analysing data, preparing and issuing documentation, and maintaining and developing relationships.

 

Duration: 12 months

Relevant school subjects: Maths

Entry requirements for the insurance practitioner apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels at grades A to E

Potential salary upon completion: £25,000 per annum
