Learning and skills assessor apprenticeship

Assess vocational learners in a range of learning environments. 

Learning and skills assessors generally focus their skills on assessing vocational training, or on-the-job skills that you wouldn’t learn at a formal education centre (like school or university). During this apprenticeship, you’ll learn to assess people on different learning goals using a range of assessment methods. You’ll also learn to support and advise people in a professional way. As a learning and skills assessor, you will work with lots of different people, often in one-on-one settings. Learning and skills assessors are wanted in all kinds of sectors, including healthcare, military, manufacturing, production, business and professional, education, leisure, construction, creative, and technology. Employers will be looking for apprentices who are organised and good at communicating with a wide range of people. 

Duration: 12 months 

Relevant school subjects: ICT, English, and Maths 

Entry requirements for the learning and skills assessor apprenticeship: Depends on employer, but likely GCSEs or equivalent qualifications and relevant experience 

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced) – equivalent to A-levels 

Potential salary upon completion: £25,000
