Protect public safety and services in the face of severe challenges 

Resilience and emergencies professionals plan ahead to make sure that when things go wrong – whether that’s pandemics, power outages, or earthquakes – the public stay safe, and essential services can continue. During this apprenticeship, you’ll learn about predicting and preventing risk, appropriate ways to respond to disasters, and how communities can recover quickly following a disruptive event. You will gain skills like researching and analysing data, communication and teamwork skills, project management, and prioritisation. Resilience and emergencies professionals are in high demand in all kinds of companies and organisations, including government, the NHS, the military, charities, and private-sector companies that deal with hazardous materials. 

Duration: 40 months 

Relevant school subjects: Geography, English, Maths, Sciences 

Entry requirements for the resilience and emergencies professional apprenticeship: A-levels or equivalent qualifications and experience. Employers might also ask for relevant experience. 

Achievement upon completion: Level 6 (Degree) – equivalent to a bachelor’s degree 

Potential salary upon completion: £30,000
