Legal technician apprenticeship

Support the authorised person in dealing with legal matters relating to the transfer of ownership of land or property from a seller to a buyer.

You’ll find legal technician apprenticeship opportunities across the legal sector, from large firms to smaller practices. During the legal technician apprenticeship, you’ll specialise, choosing to become either a conveyancing technician or a probate technician. While probate work mainly occurs in private firms, conveyancing activities can span public, private, and third-sector organisations involved in land and property transactions. Conveyancing technicians may work in diverse settings such as housing associations, local authorities, and financial institutions. Your role as a legal technician apprentice will revolve around supporting the firm in either conveyancing, or wills and probate, regulated by the Conveyancing Licensing Council (CLC). You’ll possess in-depth knowledge of your specialist area and maintain awareness of related legal aspects. Your responsibilities will include engaging with clients and stakeholders, using various communication channels to provide tailored legal support. Working under the supervision of an Authorised Person, you’ll manage your workload and use digital tools for research and communication, always ensuring integrity and professionalism. You might also see this apprenticeship listed as a conveyancing paralegal apprenticeship, probate paralegal apprenticeship, or registered conveyancing technician apprenticeship. Ultimately, you’ll leave the apprenticeship with a diploma and a qualification which aligns with Council for Licensed Conveyancers for registration on the CLC legal technician directory.
