Manage a commercially viable site in the metal recycling sector
In your daily work as a metal recycling technical manager, you’ll be responsible for the management of day-to-day operations of a site within the metals recycling sector. During the metal recycling technical manager apprenticeship you’ll be accountable for all the activity in the following areas: health and safety and wellbeing of all employees and visitors; the environmental accountability for the site, keeping within set guidelines; the overall financial responsibility for the site; human resources; operations and logistics, including all sector-specific and site-based equipment; and community relationships and helping to raise awareness of the metal recycling sector. The Chartered Institute of Wastes Management will recognise the metal recycling technical manager for student membership during the apprenticeship and associate member level on completion.
Duration: 30 months
Relevant school subjects: Business studies
Entry requirements for the metal recycling technical manager apprenticeship: Depend on employer, but likely A-levels or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience
Achievement upon completion: Level 5 (Advanced)—equivalent to a foundation degree
Potential salary upon completion: £30,000
