Post-production is effectively the final step in the making of a film or TV programme and associated products. As a post-production technical operator apprentice, you’ll dive into the exciting world of media, focusing on the final stages of production. Your role is vital in refining raw materials into polished products before they reach the public eye. You’ll be employed by post-production companies, broadcasters, or production firms with their own facilities. Day to day during your post production technical operator apprenticeship, you’ll provide technical support, assist with editing, and handle media backup and export tasks. Working closely with creative teams and clients, you’ll ensure smooth operations and meet technical specifications. Expect shift-based work in a fast-paced environment, where you’ll report to senior managers. Your responsibilities include maintaining quality standards, troubleshooting technical issues, and applying your technical expertise to enhance the creative process. This apprenticeship opens doors to a variety of roles in the media industry.

 

Duration: 12 months

Relevant school subjects: ICT

Entry requirements for the post-production technical operator apprenticeship: Depend on employer

Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher)—equivalent to a foundation degree

Potential salary upon completion: £23,000 per annum
