As a print technician apprentice, you’ll step into the dynamic world of print and graphics communication, where creativity meets technology. This sector is vital in marketing and communication, producing a wide range of products from magazines to packaging to security items like passports. During the apprenticeship, you could be employed in various settings, from small shops to multinational firms. Either way, you’ll embark on a core and options apprenticeship, specialising in pre-press, press, or post-press techniques. On a print technician apprenticeship you’ll set up and operate print machinery, optimising production, and ensuring quality and safety standards. Collaborating with colleagues and clients, you’ll play a vital role in meeting customer specifications and deadlines. This apprenticeship offers a blend of technical skill development and practical experience in a dynamic industry.

 

Duration: 36 months

Relevant school subjects: ICT and art

Entry requirements for the print technician apprenticeship: Depend on employer

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels

Potential salary upon completion: £22,000 per annum
