As a senior procurement and supply chain professional apprentice, you’ll lead the strategy for buying goods and services in sectors like government, finance, construction, and healthcare. Your role will involve sourcing products and services according to national or international laws and your organisation’s policies, focusing on ethics and sustainability. During the senior procurement and supply chain professional apprenticeship, you’ll strategically manage the procurement life cycle, balancing compliance with driving improvements and saving money. This includes negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and assessing the environmental impact of your decisions, such as energy use and material waste. Your work will also involve close collaboration with various stakeholders inside and outside your organisation. You’ll influence decisions at strategic levels, engage in high-stake negotiations, and manage procurement teams. Key responsibilities include analysing risk, getting the most out of your suppliers, and promoting sustainable practices. You’ll also be tasked with maintaining inventory levels and ensuring the continuous improvement of procurement processes. Upon completion, you’ll gain a CIPS L6 Professional diploma in procurement and supply.
