SSCL hiring for customer service apprenticeship

Based in Newcastle and interested in working for some of the largest government departments?

SSCL, a leader in critical business support services for the UK’s largest government departments, is hiring for a customer service apprenticeship.

Currently ranked among the top organisations in the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing, SSCL says being trained in customer service provides you with skills that remain valuable for your entire working life.

The level 2 customer service apprenticeship, based in Newcastle, is a 15-month programme, and the company is offering a formal qualification, hands-on experience, and a permanent job after completion.

As part of the apprenticeship, you’ll learn the key aspects of working with customers.

These include using communication skills, problem-solving, active listening skills and managing your workload.

You’ll be tasked with providing business-critical support services to large public clients such as the Ministry of Justice and Defence, Home Office, Department for Work and Pensions, and the Metropolitan Police.

Georgia is currently completing her customer service apprenticeship at SSCL.

She has been working on the Ministry of Justice HR team and tasked with providing support for managing hundreds of enquiries a day.

Above all, her apprenticeship has delivered a positive experience. Georgia said: “The apprenticeship programme so far has been amazing. I feel well supported and I am really noticing progress in the development of my skills.

“When I began the apprenticeship, I was unsure what to expect, working in such a large company which I had not really done before, but the support and knowledge that every single one of my colleagues have given me has really made it such a positive experience.”

SSCL’s apprenticeship offers a competitive starting apprentice salary of £19,305.

Applications close on 30 June 2023. You can find out more about applying on SSCL’s website.
