Assist individuals and organisations with career strategies
During the career development professional apprenticeship you’ll assist individuals and organisations with the development of long- and short-term career strategies at times of significant transition, such as redundancy and pre-retirement. You’ll help individuals assess their own strengths, values, beliefs and situation, and connect them meaningfully to the labour market and the education system. You’ll work with clients with a range of needs and at different stages of career awareness, as well as training providers that support the development of skills and vocational training; in schools, colleges and universities to support choice, entry and progression; employers to broker employment opportunities, including work experience and internships; and other support organisations, such as housing associations and social services, to address the client’s wider needs. You’ll carry out your work using information, ideas, tools and resources, as well as a variety of practical programmes, such as taster sessions and career coaching.
