Support with legal matters relating to the transfer of ownership of land or property
Conveyancing technicians work under a licensed conveyancer, solicitor or fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives to support fee-earning activities. It is an entry-level role into the industry and so is suitable for candidates of all ages—whether you hold legal qualifications or not. During the conveyancing technician apprenticeship, you’ll learn how to deal with legal matters arising from the transfer of ownership of land or property, as well as legal advice and/or work carried out in connection with any transaction that creates, varies, transfers or discharges a legal or equitable interest in any real property. You’ll develop an understanding that each property transaction is unique and you’ll learn to work closely with clients who are the buyers and sellers of property, as well as the lending institutions that are often involved in transactions.
