A regulatory affairs specialist ensures all medicines for human or veterinary use and medical devices are appropriately licensed before being sold or supplied. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that allow a company to legally develop, manufacture, market and supply healthcare or veterinary products. The role critically evaluates the evidence generated during the development and use of the product for its suitability to support obtaining and managing marketing authorisations, CE marks and approvals for clinical studies in line with legal requirements. You may work in organisations that may range in size from innovative SME businesses to major multinational companies. You may also work within service companies offering consultancy support to manufacturers or in the relevant authorities or bodies where you’ll assist in the review and assessment of regulatory and technical dossiers prior to issuing a licence. On completion of the regulatory affairs specialist apprenticeship, you’ll achieve a master’s degree.

Duration: 30 months

Entry requirements for the regulatory affairs specialist apprenticeship: A Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or law

Achievement upon completion: Level 7 (Degree)—equivalent to a master’s degree

Potential salary upon completion: £35,000 per annum
