Jet2.com and Jet2holidays celebrated the graduation of 33 apprentices from their apprenticeship scheme at a special ceremony held at The Queens Hotel in Leeds. The apprentices, from various departments such as engineering, finance, ground operations, IT, marketing, and operations control, have officially completed their apprenticeships.
The graduation ceremony marks a significant milestone for apprentices at the UK’s largest tour operator and the third-largest airline. These high-flying individuals have not only completed their apprenticeships but have also secured permanent positions with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.
In a recent press release, the company highlighted the outstanding submissions from the apprentices, with an entire cohort of level 3 team leader apprentices earning distinctions.
This is the second graduation ceremony of its kind since Jet2’s first apprentice cohort in 2022. Steve Heapy, the CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, personally presented each graduate with their well-deserved certificates during the ceremony. The event was attended by the apprentices’ families, training providers, colleagues, and mentor.
Combined, the companies currently offer over 150 apprenticeships in almost 35 different areas. Apprenticeships range from level 2 to level 7, covering areas such as finance, engineering, HR, IT, marketing, operations control, health and safety, ground operations, contact centre, and procurement.
Jet2holidays recently unveiled its plans to commit £500,000 towards an apprenticeship fund, designed to support independent travel agents in developing their workforces. The Appoint an Apprentice scheme, part of this initiative, will provide up to £5,000 to fund the salaries of new apprentices at independent travel agency partners across the UK.
